{"id":4767,"date":"2011-03-12T14:23:31","date_gmt":"2011-03-12T13:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/test.yolandadominguez.com\/portfolio\/poses\/"},"modified":"2017-07-17T15:08:52","modified_gmt":"2017-07-17T14:08:52","slug":"poses","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/yolandadominguez.com\/en\/portfolio\/poses\/","title":{"rendered":"Poses"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\u201cPoses\u201d is a direct criticism of the absurd and artificial world of glamour and of fashion that magazines present, specifically, the\u00a0<strong>highly-distorted image of women that they transmit through models that do not represent real women and promoting harmful parameters and attitudes for her.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These images of women (thrown, submissive, weak, sick\u2026) are the most feminine reference in the mass media and they have a great influence in both men and women when building our roles in terms of behavior and ways of thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Using these impossible stances of the fashion publishing,\u00a0<strong>a group of real women transfer these poses to daily scenes:<\/strong>\u00a0the queue of a museum, the supermarket or the bus stop, sparking off the reaction of the spectators (on the other hand, regular consumers of these images).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The aim: to make it clear how ridiculous, and at times harmful, it can be to follow these models that the world of glamour impose on us.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GPEcdcmnAA0&#8243; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4278&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4280&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4279&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4284&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4281&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4282&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4283&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4288&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The project \u201cPoses\u201d, which amounts over 1 million views on Youtube, has been<strong>\u00a0shown and analyzed by dozens of media from all over the world and has also had a social impact: a number of anonymous women started to produce their own versions of those ridiculous poses they found in fashion magazines<\/strong>, which gave birth to two new projects:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/yolandadominguez.com\/en\/project\/pose-no5-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cPose N5\u201d<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>a collective open call<\/strong>\u00a0inviting people to imitate a particular pose from a Chanel ad campaign, and the website\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.strikethepose.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.strikethepose.org<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>and online platform<\/strong>\u00a0into which users can upload and criticize humiliating and degrading poses and also make their own variations.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been included in several educational programs about gender and social awareness.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\u201cPoses\u201d is a direct criticism of the absurd and artificial world of glamour and of fashion that magazines present, specifically, the\u00a0highly-distorted image of women that they transmit through models that do not represent real women and promoting harmful parameters and attitudes for her.
