Break the stereotype

2020

The campaign for the City of Soria was intended to make visible the diversity of bodies. It consists of 7 photographs of women wearing the dress selected by the department store El Corte Inglés for its 2020 Fall/Winter collection campaign but with body models that do not usually grace the covers of popular publications. They were displayed in different advertisement locations throughout the city.

The idea was to send a message to the advertising and fashion industries: it is paramount to show the diversity of women in publications and campaigns so that all bodies are accepted, and there is no discrimination because of age, size, or features. Both fashion and communication tend to display a single type of woman that follows the white, young, and thin cannon, hiding all women who do not fall within these parameters. This leads to many self-esteem issues, negatively influencing tolerance and acceptance of different people, and results in racism, ageism, transphobia, and fatphobia.
