On September 23, 2022, we conducted a simultaneous campaign in 12 neighborhoods in Madrid which consisted in placing windshield sunshades on parked vehicles to oppose the distribution of ads depicting women’s bodies as merchandise which are customarily placed under windshield wipers.

For this initiative, we designed a sunshade using the same visual codes that prostitution flyers employ (primary and saturated colors, short messages) on which we printed the counter message: this space is “free of human trafficking” and “women aren’t merchandise”.

The campaign was sponsored by the Government Delegation Against Gender Violence in partnership with No Acepto Madrid and The Regional Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Madrid (FRAVM).
